A newly developed series of Anti-Vibration Grommets specifically engineered for electrical insulation, mechanical damping and noise suppression in office or lab equipment is now available from Keystone Electronics Corp.

Avdel has introduced NeoSpeed, its versatile Speed Fastening system that is said to be capable of best-in-class assembly times and stronger joint performance than conventional breakstem rivets.
For demanding applications where highly flexible, impact resistant bonds are required, Master Bond developed Polymer System EP37-3FLF.

This optically clear, two component epoxy has exceptional resistance to cryogenic temperatures and severe thermal cycling. Its low exotherm also makes it a superb potting, encapsulating and casting system, especially where wider cross section thicknesses are specified. Its unique combination of properties allows it to cure without stressing delicate electronic components.

Serviceable over the wide range of 4K to 250°F, EP37-3FLF cures at room temperature in 2 to 3 days or faster at elevated temperatures. This epoxy offers a convenient, non-critical 1 to 1 mix ratio by weight or volume, and a low mixed viscosity of 1,400 to 1,500 cps. Additionally, users can work with a 100 gram mass of the adhesive at room temperature for up to 90 minutes.

EP37-3FLF has a bond shear strength exceeding 2,000 psi and a T-peel strength of 25 pli. This flexible epoxy has an elongation of 180% and superior electrical insulation properties with a volume resistivity of 1x1014 ohm-cm. It bonds well to a variety of substrates including metals, glass, ceramics, rubbers and many plastics and is widely used in the optical, electrical, electronic, computer and OEM industries.
EP37-3FLF is sold in pint, quart, gallon and 5 gallon container kits and has a 6 month shelf life if unopened and stored at room temperature.

CRC has introduced Chute Lube silicone lubricant, a blend of silicones, cross linkers and oils designed to lubricate package handling equipment, food processing equipment, chutes, guides and rail conveyors. The lubricant is delivered by a spray that allows users to apply the product in difficult to reach areas. It is said to eliminate the binding and sticking of packages and boxes while protecting most surfaces. As moisture continues to build on surfaces, reapplying the lubricant sets down the film again to keep things running smoothly.

Chute Lube is colorless, odorless, non-staining and is harmless to most rubbers and plastics. It is effective in a wide range of temperature and is NSF H2 registered for use in meat and poultry plants.

Maplesoft announced the release of the Maple Player for iPad, an application for the iPad that lets users view and interact with documents created in desktop Maple.  This release is the first step in a plan to increase support for Maplesoft technology on this platform.

The Maple Player for iPad takes advantage of the powerful Maple computation engine, so users can enter values, move sliders, and click buttons to perform calculations and visualize the results.  It comes with a collection of interactive calculators and conceptual explorations.  They can be used to solve arbitrary integrals step-by-step, find derivatives, solve linear systems, plot functions, explore the concept of a limit, and more.  The Maple Player can also display interactive graphical illustrations for approximating the volume of a cylinder, series expansion, and other mathematical concepts.

This version of the Maple Player provides sample documents that are bundled with the application.  In the next phase, users will be able to access a much wider collection of documents from an online repository. Ultimately, they will be able to use any Maple document on the iPad, whether distributed by Maplesoft, contributed by the Maple community, or authored by themselves.

“The iPad is an increasingly important platform for many of our customers,” says Dr. Laurent Bernardin, Executive Vice-President and Chief Scientist at Maplesoft. “The Maple Player can be used to liven up a classroom and provide additional insight to students outside of class. As the technology evolves, we see the Maple Player soon becoming an integral part of the mathematics education experience. ”

The Maple Player is available for free from the App Store, and can be used by everyone. A copy of desktop Maple is not required to use the Maple Player.
For more information about Maplesoft’s vision for the iPad, read Dr. Laurent Bernardin's blog post, 'Maple and the iPad' (http://www.mapleprimes.com/maplesoftblog/127071-Maple-And-The-IPad).

CONEC has developed rugged ODVA-compliant connectors specifically for harsh environment applications, such as WiMax, Long Term Evolution (LTE), and Remote Radio Heads using Fiber To The Antenna  (FTTA) connectivity, which require rugged connector and cable assemblies suitable for outdoor use.

HARTING's new har-flex is a space-saving, rugged and flexible PCB connector series for a vast multitude of board-to-board and board-to-cable applications in a wide range of industries.

Rittal’s new Hygienic Design (HD) enclosures provide the ultimate solution where cleanliness and sanitation are paramount. Crafted of stainless steel, they feature a smooth surface grain, internal hinges, washable gaskets, locks and no crevices to trap debris or contaminates.

Rittal has succeeded in developing a product can create the optimal operating environment within enclosures for control equipment and switchgear, while at the same time meeting energy efficiency demands.

Through the utilization of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and energy-efficient PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) technology Rittal heaters now allow a better thermal output than previous solutions. New features, such as the double clamp-type terminal connection and the quick-assembly system, also ensure time-saving installation.

The formation of condensation in enclosures poses risks, in particular to sensitive control electronics located outdoors. Enclosure heaters that prevent the formation of condensation while also ensuring the system has a minimum operating temperature are required for effective protection. Now, with its latest generation of enclosure heaters, Rittal shows that technical improvements are still possible.

The heaters are available both without and with fans. The heaters without fans have a continuous thermal output of 10 to 150 watts. Using integrated fans, the thermal output can be variably increased by as much as 800 W if needed. The heaters have a ready-to-connect design and, thanks to the double quick-connection terminal, can be effectively wired and cascaded without any additional screw terminals being needed. A snap fastening feature ensures time and cost saving installation.

The use of enclosure heaters can be easily incorporated even when fans and cooling units are employed. Ideal operational results can be achieved through the use of Rittal thermostats and/or hygrostats.
