 A standard line of rotary encoder collars that can be mounted on virtually any shaft to provide speed sensing capability from their O.D. or face is available from Stafford Manufacturing Corp. The collars mount directly onto different shafts and feature corner-mounted steel targets which allow speed sensing from the O.D. or face using a variable reluctance sensor.
Made of anodized aluminum, the split two-piece designs come in 11 sizes from ½-in. I.D. x 2 in. O.D. up to 3 in. I.D. x 4-1/2 in. O.D. and in 12, 20, or 24 steel targets.
