MMTS 2010 offers innovation solutions PDF Print E-mail

This year’s Montreal Manufacturing Technology Show 2010 (MMTS) will be a showcase of manufacturing solutions for companies looking to upgrade their equipment as the domestic manufacturing sector and the Canadian economy recover from the global recession.

-
MMTS 2010, which takes place May 17-19 at Place Bonaventure in Montreal, QC, is the largest and most important event serving North America’s French marketplace and the leading event for machine tools and factory automation products and services. MMTS is Quebec’s definitive manufacturing event and the only venue that allows visitors to make side-by-side evaluations of equipment, accessories and supplies from the leading machine tool manufacturers and distributors in Canada.

MMTS also includes a strong factory automation focus including
control systems, software and hardware, assembly technology and test/inspection. Some of the key technologies that will be on display at MMTS 2010 include automation, lean and quality, design, engineering and rapid technologies, metalworking and forming, precision manufacturing equipment, and tooling and machining accessories.

Attendees at MMTS come from a diverse number of industries including aircraft and aerospace, electronics/electrical components, fabricated metal/stamping, government/military, industrial and commercial machinery, industrial supplies, machine shops/tool and die, medical/pharmaceutical, transportation, plastic products/rubber, and research and development.

However, technology-focused exhibits are only part of the MMTS 2010 experience. The show will also feature a comprehensive conference program including the keynote presentation on, “The Future of Aerospace Manufacturing.” The conference program also includes interactive town-hall presentations such as “Building Quebec’s Energy Manufacturing Supply Chain”, which addresses the capabilities that manufacturers will need to serve emerging markets such as wind energy, solar and hydro-electric markets. The presentation is cosponsored by the Canadian Wind Energy Association, Canadian Solar Industries Association, and Hydro-Quebec. The town-hall program will also feature presentations from several small- and medium-sized companies who have successfully transitioned their manufacturing operations into new markets. Another highlight of this year’s show will be the SME Networking Reception which will be held from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. on Monday, May 17.

The show will be held May 17-19 at Place Bonvaventure in Montreal, QC. Show hours are: Monday, May 17, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.; Tuesday, May 18, 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.; and Wednesday, May 19, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
