MEETING THE WEATHERSEAL CHALLENGE
Precision molder, IPL, Inc., headquartered in Saint-Damien, QC, was convinced it could produce better performing rear window slider for launch in the 2004 Nissan Titan pickup truck and subsequent model years.
Rear windows in pickup trucks slide vertically or horizontally. A vertical sliding window is typicallly activated using a motor and a horizontal sliding window is operated manually. Key to this application is the weatherseal ñ it must all the window to open and close easily, whether by hand or motor, while maintaining a seal to keep water and wind out.
