 Pre-applied Precote 85 from Nylok Corp. offers torque-tension control. The turquoise-colored thread coating for bolts with has a coefficient of friction 0.10 to 0.15 and maintains locking and sealing properties when exposed to temperatures from -50° to 200°C for 2000 h. The coating is said to have high breakaway torque, even after repetitive exposures to high and low temperatures, and seals against pressures up to 400 bar.
The coating complies with and exceeds IFI, DIN and major automotive specifications and can be applied to external and internal threaded fasteners.
