Sims Recycling Solutions has opened its Mississauga e-waste recycling facility. It will create up to 200 jobs and process 100,000 metric tonnes of waste electronics and electrical equipment annually. That is equivalent to 14,700 full garbage trucks.
The new Sims facility uses the latest technology to capture raw materials from electronics, such as old televisions and computer monitors, for future use.  At the same time, they divert hazardous materials that would otherwise end up in landfills.
