CMTS 2009 technology buffet

The SME-sponsored 2009 Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show featured keynote speaker Linda Hasenfratz, CEO of Linamar Corp. demonstrating how her company was diversifying into solar and wind energy production. John Wood of the newly minted Automotive Partnership Canada talked about commercial research opportunities. Renishaw Canada was on hand to demonstrate its latest CMM software and probing tools for metrology and design verification. Advanced Motion and Controls presented its servo-driven, Hypercyl electromechanical actuator, a departure from previous hydraulic product introductions. Autodesk Canada introduced SketchBook Mobile, a free sketching app for the iPhone or iPod Touch. Value-added software reseller Javelin Technologies introduced the $10,000 Solido rapid prototyping system and Zuken E-cubed WireWorks, an electrical design package compatible with the SolidWorks mechanical CAD platform.
