NKK Switches expands distribution of SmartSwitch to U.S. and Canada
Written by Dan Comand February 23, 2011
NKK Switches announced its award-winning SmartSwitch product line of OLED and LCD switches and displays is now available through all of NKK’s authorized distributors in the United States and Canada. The expansion adds twenty additional distributors to sell and support SmartSwitch products.
All of NKK’s distributors in the U.S. and Canada have committed to maintaining ‘available-to-sell’ inventory of SmartSwitch products and to providing design engineering resources, delivery logistics and capabilities to support these devices. In addition, NKK's expert engineering and technical support teams are available to handle even the most complicated design and customization requirements.
The addition of these products to the full line of NKK’s standard electromechanical switches already handled by NKK’s distributors provides customers with the choices they need and the channels they prefer to complete their designs.
SmartSwitch devices feature the smallest off-the-shelf package for LCD and OLED displays in the industry with sizing comparable to a U.S. nickel. In addition to the option of selecting LCD or OLED technology, engineers are also able to specify single, bi-color or RGB LED backlighting as well as 36x24 or 64x32 resolutions. These devices are fully programmable with real-time sequencing that simplifies multi-decision operations.
The SmartSwitch product line consists of the OLED Rocker; OLED Pushbutton; OLED Display; 64x32 LCD Pushbutton; 64x32 Compact LCD Pushbutton; 64x32 LCD Display; and a variety of 36x24 LCD pushbuttons, compact LCD pushbuttons and displays.
The innovative OLED Pushbutton was named one of Electronic Products’ 2009 Products of the Year. In addition, NKK’s OLED Rocker was named a finalist for product innovation awards from Design News and EDN.
More information on the SmartSwitch family of products can be found on NKK's recently redesigned SmartSwitch website. The site has been enhanced for customer support with easier navigation and the grouping of accessories with associated products. Engineers can quickly download data sheets and software, order development kits, read white papers, get technical support, check inventory and more.
