The addition of Dr. Hans-Joachim Schöpf and Mr. Barry Huff to the Fisker Board of Directors ensures the company will continue to benefit from a diversity of knowledge and opinions.
Dr. Schöpf has an automotive career spanning 38 years that includes some of the most senior positions in the German automotive industry. He has worked for large OEMs and served on the boards for Ballard Power Systems, Vancouver, and Valmet Automotive, the highly regarded contract manufacturer assembling the Fisker Karma.
As one of the influences on modern automotive research and development, Dr. Schöpf held critical positions at Mercedes Benz, including Executive Vice President and Member of the Board of Mercedes Car Group with links to Chrysler, Mitsubishi and McLaren; Senior Vice President (SVP) A-and C-Class; SVP Passenger Cars, overall advanced development and IPM; and SVP manufacturing S- E- and C-Class.
His experience overseeing the development and implementation of new automotive technologies such as electronic stability control and common rail injection gasoline and diesel engines, as well as new business operations like MbTech engineering GmbH, is unmatched.
Mr. Barry Huff brings to the board four decades of international financial experience with a deep understanding and development of thought leadership around Deloitte LLP’s services to client audit committees and management. As Vice Chairman from 1995 to 2008, he oversaw and directed accounts for the multi-billion dollar accounting firm’s largest clients.
Mr. Huff’s extensive automotive auditing experience as Deloitte's Lead Client Service Partner and Advisory Partner to General Motors, and Advisory Partner for tier-one automotive suppliers PPG Industries and ArvinMentor, further expands and reinforces the level of auto industry knowledge contained in this already solid group of leaders.
