Hemisphere GPS signs licensing agreement with John Deere for eDriveX steering system compatibility

Written by  Dan Comand April 12, 2011
Hemisphere GPS announced a software license agreement with Deere & Company that enables Hemisphere GPS to enhance aftermarket compatibility of its Outback eDriveX automated steering system with John Deere's new AutoTrac Ready tractors.

Hemisphere GPS' Outback Guidance systems are currently compatible with existing John Deere machinery. This new license agreement allows Hemisphere GPS continued compatibility for the aftermarket installation of eDriveX and represents Deere's commitment to an open, managed architecture for their precision farming solutions. The updated Outback eDriveX compatibility will simplify installation and offer seamless automated steering operation on John Deere's 2011 AutoTrac Ready tractors.

Hemisphere GPS' Outback eDriveX automatically steers farm machinery to centimeter-level accuracy. As a result, farmers easily plant seed and apply chemicals only where needed - minimizing application costs, reducing driver fatigue and increasing productivity. Hemisphere GPS' newly announced eTurns, the latest eDriveX feature, automatically steers the turn at the end of each row and will be available with the new John Deere AutoTrac Ready compatible version of eDriveX.

"Our agreement with John Deere ensures that we continue to provide customers with our leading automated steering systems in their most popular line of new tractors," said Kip Pendleton, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Agriculture at Hemisphere GPS. "Our success at developing precision farming solutions for all types and brands of farm machinery means nearly all farmers can benefit from the productivity gains of our Outback Guidance products."
