The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of State for
Canada Economic Development, announced the awarding of $390,000 in total
repayable funding to a Centre-du-Québec manufacturing firm.

Granted through the Community Adjustment Fund established under Canada's Economic Action Plan, this financial assistance will serve to help the enterprise Usinage R.A. Inc.
Usinage R.A. Inc.
Founded in 1989, this Saint-Charles-de-Drummond SME specializes in the machining and repair of industrial machinery parts as well as in the manufacture of gear wheels. The company's management has decided to invest in high-precision technological equipment to help bolster productivity and diversify production. The repayable contribution of $250,000 from Canada Economic Development will therefore serve for the acquisition of a five-axis machining centre that will allow several of the operations currently involved in the production chain to be integrated into a single sequence. This new equipment will also facilitate the mass manufacture of small parts and complex components produced for the military, aerospace and ground transportation sectors.
"Thanks to the special measures provided for in Canada's Economic Action Plan, the Canadian economy is starting to recover even while the situation remains fragile in the global economy. Implementation of Phase II of our plan will further help to lay the foundations for solid long-term economic growth and job creation. As evidence, the projects announced today will result in the creation of nine new jobs and the maintenance of three others in the Drummond RCM," noted Minister of State Lebel.
