Bombardier Transportation announced today that the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) has exercised options for 186 additional subway cars (31 six-car trainsets) for the Toronto Rocket Subway Train valued at approximately $390 million CDN ($378 million US, 299 million euros). The options are part of the Toronto Rocket Subway Train contract signed in December 2006. Manufacturing and final assembly of the vehicles will be carried out at Bombardier Transportation production facility in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Delivery of the cars is scheduled to take place between 2012 and 2013, concurrent to the base order.
