Switches meet RoHS directive

EAO has announced its Series 44 range of industrial control switches meet the latest RoHS directive restricting the use of hazardous substances in electronic equipment. The plastic and contact materials of the series of 22.5 and 30.5 mm switches are free of potentially toxic cadmium based pigments.

In addition the actuators, front/base adapters and switching elements of the series are halogen free. Units are protected to IP65 from the front as standard, or alternatively for additional protection against extreme environmental conditions, the series can be fitted with a protective silicon cap for an simple upgrade to IP67.

The series is rated at 500 Vac (10 A) and features screw terminals with openings to guide a screwdriver. The switching elements feature gold-plated silver, self-cleaning, double-breaking spring contacts, which are stackable. The modular Series 44 range includes illuminated and non-illuminated pushbuttons and indicators, interlocking pushbuttons, Emergency-stop safety switches, joysticks, potentiometers and rotary and keylock switches, available with a broad selection of accessories including protective front rings, protective caps, blind plugs, enclosures and legend plates.
