Miniature, illuminated rocker switches

NKK Switches has introduced the CWSC series of miniature, illuminated rockers. The series features front panel, snap-in mounting that is said to ease installation and lowers assembly cost. The series is available with full face, bright LED illumination in red, green or amber to give operators an at-a-glance visible status indication.

The illumination is diffused through a matching clear cap to guarantee even color distribution.

The switches are designed to have current ratings of 9 A at 125 Vac or 6 A at 250 Vac in a compact body. The long mechanical life of 30,000 operations minimum is made possible by the quick-make, quick-break characteristic of the contact mechanism which limits arcing. This single-break, snap-acting contact mechanism provides smooth actuation and audible feedback to operators.

The interior shield of the CWSC switch protects the rocker from any contamination of carbon generated by potential arcing. This extra precautionary measure translates into even better electrical life characteristics.
The housing is constructed of a polyamide material and the rocker of a polycarbonate substance. Terminals are Solder Lug/.110 in. quick connect, and can be used with connectors to facilitate wiring requirements. The terminal alignment is offset, resulting in high insulation resistance and increased dielectric strength.
