In-line, real-time viscosity and temperature measurements can now be acquired by Profibus control systems using BiODE's ViscProfi connectivity module. ViscProfi connectivity modules are available in two versions. One supports up to four BiODE ViSmart viscosity sensors, the other supports eight. The module helps users make use of the Decentralized Peripheral, or DP, protocol's design for fast data exchange.
The ViSmart solid-state viscometer is suitable for embedded and in-line
applications as it is completely sealed and measures 1.3 x 1.1 x 0.4
in. and weighs just 4 oz. The viscometer has no moving parts, so it
does not have to be calibrated in the field and is unaffected by
vibration or flow conditions. The module works with any Profibus DP
control system as well as BiODE's ViscNet control hub to provide a
continuous audit trail for process monitoring.
