Bussmann Transportation Products, a division of Cooper Industries, has announced a series of vehicle style Power Relay (PRM) and Power Fuse (PFM) modules. The modules are housed in a sealed body, and use a non-rotating single-bolt installation. The PRM and PFM can be used with other Bussmann modules, such as the Vehicle Electrical Center (VEC) and Rear Terminal Mini Fuse & Relay Module (RTMR) to create a complete power distribution package.
The PRM contains a 70 A/12 Vdc steady-state relay, protected by an
inline fuse. There is also a non-switched inline circuit contained for
additional fusing capacity. The PFM contains two separate inline fuse
circuits with rugged stud connections. Joiners and bus bars are
available to interconnect several PRMs and PFMs. The bus bars are also
used to provide power from these units to VECs, RTMRs, etc. The PRMs
and PFMs are designed to hold up in extreme moisture, rugged and
high-vibration environments in on- and off-highway applications that
include heavy trucking, RV, construction, agriculture, ATV and material
handling. Both units are rated at IP66 and ignition protected per SAE
J1171.
