The 20 series of photoelectric sensors from Baumer electric are said to round out its line up of inductive, capacitive and ultrasonic sensors, which are also available in the same small housing. In addition, several new technical advancements have been implemented. The background suppression sensor now integrates a teach function, allowing sensing range to be instantaneously programmed.
After programming, the sensor ignores all shiny backgrounds and can
detect differently colored objects at the same distance. The 20 series
also offers retro-reflective and thru-beam types. A special algorithm
has also been developed to suppress interference between adjacently
mounted sensors.
