Interroll Corp. has developed a series of belt drives, ranging from 80 to 216 mm, designed to improve work environment efficiency and safety in material handling applications. The belt drives are enclosed and sealed inside a steel shell, and, because the drive unit and bearings are mounted within the protective shell, the belt drive is said to take up less room than a conventional drive with significant noise reduction.
The enclosed drive unit also reduces maintenance costs such as extra
chains, v-belts, couplings, bearings, support structure and special
guards. The company recommends an oil change every 10,000 h (almost 5
years) in between oil changes based on an 8 h/day 5-day working week.
Belt drives are available in many diameter sizes including 80, 113,
138, 165 and 216 mm in single phase 115 or 230 V and three phase,
230/400 V, 230/460 V or 575 V, 50/60Hz.
