Multi-axis gantry positioning system
The Anorad motion division of Rockwell Automation has introduced the HerculesT series gantry, part of a product line that features a modular construction. Each axis of the Hercules gantry can be ordered with either iron core or ironless (zero-cogging) linear servomotors.
Both motor types are available in three coil lengths. The lower,
Y-axis, can be specified with either single or dual-motor actuation to
optimize throughput. For high-speed point-to-point motion, both the X
and Y-axes can be built with Anorad's low cost LC-50 iron-core motors,
in either 200 or 300 mm coil lengths depending on the desired speed for
each axis.
The series is available in variety of travels and resolutions. Standard X-axis travels are available from 250 to 1000 mm and Y-axis travels range from 250 to 1000 mm. The travels can be mixed and matched. High-resolution optical encoder options (0.1 to 5.0 µm per count) are available, along with flexible, strain-relieved cables bundled in modular cable carriers.
