The upgraded IM481H PLUS microstepping driver (model XIM481H) from Intelligent Motion Systems includes a patented new motion control chip said to add active anti-resonance, smooth low speed motion, and precise current control for motion control applications and drive stepping motors up to NEMA size 23.
The package measures 1.1 x 2.7 x 0.175 in. and includes short circuit
and thermal protection, adjustable automatic current reduction, at full
step and fault outputs. Accepting an input voltage of +12 to +48 V, the
2.1 A peak driver incorporates ASIC technology that reduces motor
heating and allows low inductance stepper motors to be used to increase
high-speed performance and efficiency. The XIM481H has 16 built-in
microstep resolutions, 2 more than its predecessor the IM481H, ranging
from full step to 51,200 steps/revolution in binary and decimal that
can be changed at any time without the need to reset the driver.
