Gee Plus Inc. has announced the VM1614 voice coil actuator that develops a near constant 2.7 oz continuous force over a stroke of 0.155 in. A peak force of 7.2 oz is available for accelerating customer loads. The voice coil actuator is 0.63 in. OD x 0.55 in. long and weighs about 0.53 oz.
The linear motion profile is constant and linear over a wide range of
strokes and excitation levels in both directions of operation. Three
coil designs are available for different voltages and velocity
constants. Cycle times as low as 1 ms.
