Digital servo drives

Baldor Electric has extended its MicroFlex line of digital servo drives with a model for use with brushless rotary ac servomotors utilizing resolver feedback. The drive is said to provide users with a cost-effective means of increasing the speed and smoothness of existing automation through the application of digital control technology without having to replace the servomotor.

Units are capable of operating in torque or velocity control mode, and use sinusoidal, resolver-based commutation to minimize torque ripple. The drives are available with a choice of 3, 6 and 9 A continuous power ratings, and accommodate peak currents of 200%.
