Pepperl+Fuchs has introduced the SCS10 series single-turn parallel output absolute rotary encoders. Suitable for direct connection to a discrete input PLC, the series is housed in a aluminum casing, and offers IP65 protection and 13-bit resolution.
The encoders feature inputs for latching, preset and selection of counting direction. A preset function allows the encoder to be set to zero at any time. The series is available with a push-pull parallel interface and 6 or 10 mm diameter shafts. Units offer maximum shaft speed to 6000 rpm, and can handle axial/radial shaft loads up to 40 lb.
