Techno Inc. has announced the TechProbe digitizer CNC accessory. The digitizing probe mounts to any of Techno's Servo CNC systems via a 1/4 in. collet. TechProbe software will digitize 2D objects with complex curves, or 3D objects with geometric parts. Input the objects scan-area dimensions and desired step-resolution into
the software and the program automatically collects data. 
Most of the
software's default settings, like speeds and resolutions, will not have
to be reconfigured. Scanned 2D objects are generated onto the screen in
a field of automatic toolpath points while 3D objects generate a point
cloud. The software allows users to view the scan through its active-preview window. Both 2D and 3D scanned point images can be saved in ASCII file format where they can easily be imported into most CAD/CAM programs.
