White Electronic Designs Corp. has introduced Max-Vu as a means of optimizing contrast and viewability of Active-Matrix Liquid-Crystal Displays (AMLCD) and at the same time offering protection from harsh environmental conditions.
The product process includes an optically matched window bonded
directly to the AMLCD using specifically formulated silicone. The
window is optically coupled to the display resulting in increased
optical performance. Max-Vu is suitable for applications that require
high contrast in high ambient light and in extreme environments such as
outdoor navigation, GPS systems and embedded control systems.
