Rittal has launched a 2U system, the “pre-shrunk” PicoTCA.
Available virtually from stock the PicoTCA is equipped with a 350W power supply with power management, a fully compliant backplane and mechanics, which allow the accommodation of up to 9 full size AMCs or 6 full size and 6 half size AMCs, and push-pull cassette fan trays with a filter on the air inlet.
A full integration guide is included in the supply, to further facilitate the “plug-and-play” operation of the unit, and show how easily it can be configured to work with different protocols etc.
MicroTCA products, based on a nominal 2U high module, can save a minimum 30% of space in comprehensive rack mounted systems.
