Tecella releases miniature USD-powered patch clamp amplifier
Tecella has released Pico – a “full-featured, low-noise patch clamp amplifier with an integrated digitizer and headstage.”
Pico is ideal for whole cell and single-channel recording as well as cellular electrochemistry. It measures 5.6” x 2.5” x 0.7” and consumes “less than 1 watt of power.” The Clean Head Switching technology included allows for “software controlled switching between voltage clamp and current clamp, or between five available feedback gain resistors from 10M ohms to 10G ohms.”
The standard circuits included are series resistance, fast capacitance, three slow capacitances, and junction potential offset. An optional Active Leak Compensation circuit can be added and a Pipette holder can also mount onto the Pico. The single USB connection serves as the communications and power link and a second cable connects to a breakout box for digital I/O and analog out.
