Design Product News launches video outlet for Canadian design engineers

Last time we touched base I introduced you to the first fully interactive digital edition of DPN magazine – now the second one is awaiting your eyes and mouse finger (see our promo on the right).

But DPN hasn't been resting over the holidays.

Since a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video clip has to be worth an order of magnitude more! That is why DPN has created a whole new environment for video clips on our website, housed at dpncanada.com/video.

Not only will you find videos that supplement new product announcements and feature stories linked to the digital edition, you will also find industry commentary, interviews and demos of new technologies. (Click logo at right to view the Video Clips home page.)

What's more, DPN is welcoming video clips from Canadian designers, OEMs and machine builders such as yourself. Please drop me a note with a video file attachment under 10 MB to the address below, or a request to ''FTP-it'' if the file size exceeds that limit. Playing time should be under 2 minutes.

Naturally, DPN reserves the right to post (or not) any video content on its website, so we are relying on your good judgement...

Die castings. Feb. 22 is the deadline for entries to the 2008 International Die Casting Competition sponsored by the North American Diecasting Association. (diecasting.org).

Sensing valves for category 2, 3. Ross Controls has introduced Series SV27 sen-sing valves with position and state sensing feedback for Category 2 and Category 3 Safety Applications. The valves combine the characteristics of poppet technology with sensing for actual poppet position and state.
