Welcome
!
Thanks for a very supportive
2006 to all DPN friends and partners
This
year has been a landmark for Design Product News as we launched
embedded 3D content into the digital edition and prepare to embark on our
35th year of publishing.
With the help of many vendors, I've also been able to get out in the field more
than ever to talk to end users of components, systems and software, and to
receive training from some of the best in the business. I'd especially like
to thank the following for inviting me into your classrooms: value-added
mechanical CAD software resellers Imaginit Technologies (Autodesk
Inventor), Designfusion (UGS Solid Edge) and Javelin Technologies
(SolidWorks); motors and drives manufacturer Baldor Electric (Sizing and Applying Servo/Motion Products); and, Baumer
Electric (Sensors Basic Product Training).
The Editorial Advisory Board of DPN also plays a strong role in what
you read in the magazine, e-LETTER and online. Thanks to Board members:
John Bachmann, PEng., chairman of the Canadian Fluid Power Association
and Wainbee corporate sales and marketing manager; Ajay Bajaj, PEng.,
Canadian conference steering committee member of the Power Transmission
Distributors’ Association and president, Rotator Products Ltd.; Millan
Yeung, National Research Council Integrated Manufacturing Technologies
Institute, Special Interest Group Coordinator; Tim Poupore, President
of the Association of Chartered Industrial Designers – Ontario and president
of Ove Industrial Design Ltd.; and, Rob Lemmen, mechanical design
engineer at Korver Engineering division of E.M. Precise Tool Ltd.
A special acknowledgement goes out to Mike Baker of General Dynamics Land Systems,
who stepped down from the board after changing roles within the company.
Thanks for
sharing your thoughts on CAD systems integration with DPN readers over the years. Taking
Mike's place on the DPN Editorial Advisory Board is Mirek Tokarz,
director of Technology Development at Langen Packaging. Welcome, Mirek.
Happy Holidays
& All the Best in 2007!
