Ontario government offers training initiative

March 2009 - Ontario manufacturers who need help funding workforce development and training to stay competitive in today’s global marketplace can get help through the AIME initiative (Achieving Innovation and Manufacturing Excellence).

The initiative is a partnership between the Ontario government and the Yves Landry Foundation that provides up to $50,000 per project in the form of a grant to foster training that will lead to advancements in innovation in the manufacturing sector.

Funding is available for two major objectives:
• training that will support the adaptation of new technology, processes or procedures or any change within the company to support innovation
• training that will support and develop Highly Skilled Personnel is any area that leads to innovation, including development or new engineering skills, training in the use of new software, hardware of other tools, retaining to embrace new technologies, new manufacturing methods or any other area that will make a company more competitive in the global marketplace
